How to fix New World Window mode Bug?

Table of Contents

Occasionally players may encounter the New World window bug when they switch from fullscreen to windowed by hitting alt enter. Doing so causes the game to display a blue box outline that will not go away even if they switch back to full-screen mode.

To fix the New World window mode bug, players must go to their video settings by finding it first under settings as shown below.

Under settings, there will be a tab called visuals click and find the option that says window mode, as shown below. Click the tab and change the current setting to window mode. After you are done, click the tab under it called resolution and change your resolution setting.

You will want to set your resolution to one that is lower than your current resolution.Once finished, hit apply and let the game switch to all of your settings.

Once everything has been changed to both a lower resolution and window mode, go ahead and switch it all back to your normal setting.

When you finish, the window bar on the top of the screen will disappear, and the game will return to normal, as long as you don't hit alt enter again.
