How to fix the failed to join a multiplayer game error in Humankind
Table of Contents
There is nothing more fun than playing a game with your friend. On the flip side, there is nothing more frustrating than running into an error while attempting to do so. Humankind recently launched and alongside it came a nasty issue.
When attempting to play a multiplayer game, an error will pop up saying "failed to join a multiplayer game." This can be annoying, but luckily there is an easy fix. To fix this error, all you have to do is close out the game and reboot it.

Sometimes it doesn't work on the first attempt and you may have to close the game and reboot it a couple of times. With persistence, you and your friends can play Humankind together. There is however another issue that you should be aware of. When the game is first started, it will attempt to load all of the assets in the game. If anyone joins during this process, the game will freeze.
Simply wait for all of the assets to load before inviting anyone to the game and the issue will be resolved. Until these issues have been addressed and fixed in a patch, you will have to use these workarounds.
