Poeltl is a browser game that challenges players to guess any current NBA player. Each day, a new basketball star is chosen as the mystery athlete, and players must solve who it is. Using both green and yellow tiles on stats, Poeltl gives players clues after each guess.

Is Poeltl inspired by Wordle?

While not directly inspired by Wordle, Poeltl is inspired partially by Wordle. Many other games, like Weddle, that have direct inspiration from Wordle would eventually inspire Poeltl creators Dunktown to make their game. There has been a larger movement of niche browser guessing games that can be traced back to the popularity of Wordle.

How do you play Poeltl?

Poeltl is fairly easy to play, especially if you are familiar with other browser guessing games. Choose whether or not to show the silhouette of the player you're trying to guess. Choosing so will give you a small hint into who the player is. Don't worry about spelling, as you'll choose from a dropdown bar after typing in a few letters. You'll be told after each guess, using stats, how close you are to the correct player. Players get eight chances to get the mystery player.
