Who is The Scientist Voice Actor in Fortnite?

While Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) might have been the biggest surprise appearance in the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 live event, there was another celebrity cameo that many of us might have recognized. The Scientist had an all-too-familiar voice for many adult Fortnite players, particularly those over 25 years old.

Our first thought was likely, "wait...is that...?" followed by leaning in closer to the screen to hear better. The answer, for those now wondering, is Yes. That was Joel McHale. Although he is still an active actor and known to be a part of many things that younger players might recognize, most of us who recognized him as The Scientist instantly felt nostalgic for the show Community, in which he starred in a leading role.

It's not known if he was intentional to have the same attitude and mannerisms as Jeff Winger, his character from the popular comedy series—but it certainly appears that way. The Scientist is every bit as snappy and seems to lead through slightly-condescending-but-lovable humor as Joel McHale's old character.

Still, those of us that have been following the storyline for Fortnite since Chapter 1 is not entirely surprised by this cameo, as Joel McHale previously voiced The Scientist in Chapter 1 Season X, which was the character's first appearance. Regardless, we're hoping The Scientist plays a bigger part in this Chapter!
